Sorry to say, but It's not possible with this layout to change the background by simply changing something in the code. If you right click and see the main image:

The background is part of the image, so there is no way to remove it by changing the code.
You would need to download the image, modify it using Photoshop or a graphics program (which requires some graphic skills), upload it somewhere on the web and change the path of the image in the code, as well as change the path of the page background image as well.

Edit: Sorry, but you cannot change the background on a DIV layout unless you make/edit it yourself using photo shop, paint shop, ect. The background itself is the layout.
You can try leaving a comment on the page, asking if he/she could edit it for you or you can post a layout request in the forums...some of the people on there take requests.

I think you shouldn't rely on what other people think of you, due to the fact that true strength comes from within. This can come from people if they support you, but you certainly shouldn't let it get you down if someone doesn't think well of you. You know who you are and you know what your goals are better than any of them. The more you focus on those goals, the more value they'll see in you as a person, due to the fact that you don't need them, you're doing what you need to do in life. If you don't have too many friends, perphaps you don't need many friends right now, so it's natural feeling that you wouldn't see it possible too many. Besides the fact that you didn't need them to begin with, try just being honest about how you feel with everyone you meet. I have been on Myspace for years, before it was the fad it is now. I do my own coding for pages and do pages for others.
The best places to find templates (a template is a premade layout for public use) is createblog. they have the most original and the widest variety of pages available anywhere. And trust me, I've looked. It's very easy to use for those who do not know anything about code and for those who do, it's very convenient, because you can cut %26amp; past the code into your page and alter it as you see fit.
To use them, please see the directions below.
- when you go to www.createblog.com, make sure to click on the LAYOUTS link at the top of the page.
- then go to the MYSPACE layouts. The others can not be used for myspace.
There are also scripts for myspace on this site, they are fairly self explanatory as they indicate what they do, and how to use them as well as giving you the scripts.

This is what I do to personalize my background (layout) I find a picture I like from google or askjeeves, make sure it's a med. to lrg pic at least 1024 x 640. Save it then take it to photobucket.com and upload it. Grab the Url it provides then go to www.strikefile.com and click the first link. Scroll down a bit to the question Want to change background click yes, paste in the url from the pic, there will be a question about tiling click yes and full tile, and preview, then keep going back and get your text colors and sizes to match. Then of course when you like what you have click generate code, grab code and paste it in About Me. Viola! Sounds complicated but it's not really. Hope it helps

If you used a background directly from someone else's website, that could be a problem. Alot of sites are trying to block people from hotlinking and messing up their bandwidth. If you've done this, then take the picture and host it on an image hosting site like photobucket or www.villagephotos.com. Thomas's myspace editor should help with your alignment issues.

These people obviously have no idea what you are talking about.
To design something on your profile screen, you have to edit your profile in the Myspace profile editor. Whatever font schemes, backgrounds, or color designs you create %26amp; save there automatically become both your regular profile design %26amp; your private screen appearance.
That's what you see on other private screens; basically a reflection of the actual profile.

It's only plain white to the people that aren't on your friends list when they try to go to your page. Once they are on your friends list it will let them see your page with the layout that you have set up.

animated pictures on the internet come in "gif" files. you may have heard of jpeg pictures. Gif pictures are another kind of image, but it can be animated.
You can search for certain types of gifs, then when you find one you want, you can save it to your computer, and upload it like you would any other myspace photo.

I never go to those sites because I have hard time finding one that suit me. So I tend to make my own layout in PSP (Paint Shop Pro) and add it there... it always show my mood and who I m. I feel that if you just use those from those sites, you may just rob yourself out of your true identity. Just my opinion.
That plain white background really leaves alot to be desired, and I'm not too familiar with HTML. I'm sure I could do it with some guidance.
Its easy go to myspacesupport.com, or freeweblayouts.net... and paste the code to the edit profile%26gt;about me section...
Just go to a search engine and type in "free myspace layouts." There's a ton of sites for these, and they'll give you instructions on how to apply the new layout to your Myspace page.
I redid mine with www.rockincodes.com. There is a link to the background generator and you can select pictures or even just colors to spice up your page. Basically, you tell them what you want and then it spits out the codes - even lets you preview it - then you copy and paste into a certain area of your profile (it even tells you where). Have fun with it!

Even if you get a layout from whatever site, you can take out that annoying logo. Just look for it in the HTML-- they're not too hard to spot. =]
You can always go in to the code that you copy and paste and delete the links that they put in there. I always look for the websites name, like Myspacepimper.com and I delete it out of the code usually starting with the " "....

This is just a snipit from a code but it's what I look for to delete. Tinker around with it but keep the code copied somewhere like in WORD so that you can start over if needed. Good luck!

Whatever you do, do not put a million flash toys all over it and make sure the page allignment stays in the right place. Some people go crazy and put those fridgerators, chat boards, etc. and their entire page allignment gets messed up.
Keep it simple.
Lots of people go for tasteless backgrounds with text colours that are either really hard to read, or clash violently (or sometimes both). So don't do that.
Go easy with the strange templates that only work in some browsers, and lose half the content in the others.
And if you can arrange it so that music doesn't start automatically when people visit, that's nice. Otherwise we get to hear loads of clashing tunes at once. Nice.
Cat photos should be safe though. But no fluffy pink hearts please!
The last thing you want, is 20 surveys and 374985 icon things on your page.
I like to keep mine simple...maybe some pictures you like of you or your friends or just anything!
I like to have a good background or layout. If you choose just a background, then you can pick your own network banner and contact table. Its good to actually write about things in the different sections too, then it lets people know who you are. I put on graphics too, the ones with the sayings. You can also do slideshows and music playlists. Some of the sites that I like to use are:

A friend ID is the numbers in the URL of the myspace page.
I.e. %26amp;friendid=12345678 is at the end of the URL, so 12345678 is the friend ID.
Go to freeweblayouts.net.
They show you in detail where the friend id is....
when your in the home page, look at the url and you should find your friend ID
First, I want to change the location to something thats not listed, aka from a videogame.
I want to put a background image into the network section, and I want to change the the contact section into something more fancy and less plain.
Then something else, im almost sure it can be done fairly easy, is changing the sections from like, music to something else. So instead of general, itll say something personality or something. If that make sense.

someone may of hacked into your account, you should check your edit profile and check if you still have your html codes still in your section. If it's still there, I have no idea what is going on. If it isn't then someone has definately hacked into your account.
some spammer probably got to your page.
It happened to me once, but someone found out my password. I had to recreate my entire profile, and request friends again.

I tink it happened to me , i changed my layout , but when i logged in today my old layout and settings were back on there, i guess they're having trouble with the site's style sheet
Yeah, it happens and it sounds as though your page was phished possibly. The first thing you need to do is go into your account settings and change your password just to be safe. Sometimes myspace is messed up in areas temporarily and will do this but I would go ahead and get another layout. Good luck~

animated pictures on the internet come in "gif" files. you may have heard of jpeg pictures. Gif pictures are another kind of image, but it can be animated.
You can search for certain types of gifs, then when you find one you want, you can save it to your computer, and upload it like you would any other myspace photo.

There you can change your Display Name , First and Last name.
When you log on your myspace account look to the right of your picture. You should see "edit profile". Click it. Then you look for the top navigation bar where it says name. Click it. Finally change your name to whatever you want.
If you want color to your display name just copy the code below %26amp; paste at the top of your about me section.(It is found in edit profile)

well I think you'd have to use photoshop to create a polaroid effect on your photos, than upload your file to photobucket or whatever host you use, than make it your background on myspace using this code :

i use to make layouts and icons and stuff all the time, you need to have a html format, like take one of a layout you like, and then just switch around the codes and stuff. takes practice but you can do it. they also have websites where you can make layouts. i'd do it for you but i retired from myspace after it gave my computer a virus. lol

Basically,I'm super bored with all of the default layouts that i find on layout websites.
I can NEVER find exactly what I want.
I'm good with HTML,but I have yet to master the skill of creating my own layout.
I want something super plain..
With Arial font.
No cluttery pictures as the background...no stripes or polka dots..
If you can find a background that has to do with pregnancy,that would be awesome.

I was adding a MySpace graphic to my space. I saved it. When i view profile, it was totally whacked up. It was half of my profile and half of "stranger" profile. Only my pictures and comments and blogs remained. The rest of the profile was basically filled with someone else's profile. Im really sure it is my account alrite! My friend suggested someone hacked into it. What went wrong?
It is so messed up, i have to reset all my stuff. I dont remember where i got my previous layout. It was white and green border. Can you please help me find a website with plain white layouts or any other solid colors. I prefer that it has no reference to the website (when i add it to myspace, i would not like to have a banner or any reference to the website i took it from).

i just recently had my friends jacked up, it would go to comeone else's friends. i think it was just an interference.
if its all fixed now, then it was an interference.
otherwise, your getting hacked or the website from which you got your html graphics jacked up your profile, so i suggest you get rid of that html.
