I wanted to change the background but now I can't get anything to show up except the plain white background!!

you have to add the link from a site. then put it under the "about me" section.

Once you copy the html code go to "edit profile" and paste the code in your "about me " section and MAKE SURE you always click "save all changes" or nothing will save. If this doesn't work, there could be something wrong with the html code your trying to copy and paste in, so you might want to try another code for a different layout.

if you're having problems with the code itself, then save the pic onto your desktop then upload it to "photobucket" which will create a new code for you.

first of all, NEVER USE BACKGROUNDS !! try to use layouts. click on one of your friends. then you should hit on the side of their profile, the layout button. then you can pick one you like, and copy the html code, go back to myspace and hit edit profile. after that paste the code in to your about me. the background will only once in a while show up and it will show up while your layout is loading, but only sometimes. THAT is why backgrounds are unreliable!! i hope this helps you out

If u want a hole lay out jsut do liek what the other people have said and google myspace layouts and choose one and apply, however if u wish to jsut change the back ground paste this in your "about me" section and google an image and "view full-size image" and replace the url in the code below.
